Summer Gold— Nina Smetana
The heat it takes you and melts you away
While you spread out your toes in golden sand
From sparkling seasides you will never stray
When blinding rays do envelop the land
The autumn comes; the seasons do fly by
The colors swirl before you like a dream
The winter crystals fall from the grey sky
And everything is silver, white or creme
Then comes the springtime with the bursting hues
And buds come creeping up through frozen ground
In reds and yellows, greens, some pinks and blues
The boring winter colors do get drowned
In summer you do wish for something cold
In winter you just dream of summer gold
While you spread out your toes in golden sand
From sparkling seasides you will never stray
When blinding rays do envelop the land
The autumn comes; the seasons do fly by
The colors swirl before you like a dream
The winter crystals fall from the grey sky
And everything is silver, white or creme
Then comes the springtime with the bursting hues
And buds come creeping up through frozen ground
In reds and yellows, greens, some pinks and blues
The boring winter colors do get drowned
In summer you do wish for something cold
In winter you just dream of summer gold
