Keren Or Tenth Annual Contest Awards Ceremony Pics
On Sunday, April 27, 2014, Keren Or celebrated its tenth anniversary.
Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council and Keren Or founders Gerald (z”l) and Eileen (z”l) Siegel hosted the Keren Or Tenth Annual Contest Awards Ceremony at the Sabes JCC in St. Louis Park, MN.
51 participants from 23 schools and 12 synagogues submitted 156 pieces of writing or photos. The winners represented 15 schools and 8 synagogues (as well as students who are unaffiliated). Contest winners received cash prizes, and their winning pieces were featured in the Tychman Shapiro Gallery in an exhibit titled Keren Or: A Decade of Writing and Photography. In addition, they had the honor of having their work published on this website and in a special full-color supplement sponsored by the American Jewish World and by Harry and Sandy Lerner.
Contest judges were Julie Landsman, Judy Brier, and Robert Wolk for written work, and Ann Ginsburgh Hofkin, Maury Landsman, and Debra Fisher Goldstein for photography.
