A Sneaky Tea Party — Eliza Skoler

A hillside picnic
Just the babysitter and I

I guess I didn’t like that babysitter

I ran Through my yard
Through my neighbor’s yard
And into the next yard

I guess I didn’t like that babysitter

I ran up the back steps
Entered the kitchen
I was greeted with a warm hug

I guess I didn’t like that babysitter

We shared macaroons
And talked
And I was not sent home

I guess I didn’t like that babysitter

Mom came
To our neighbor’s house
To retrieve me
And I got a macaroon
For the road

I guess I simply did not like that babysitter
